Biblical Hebrew is studied inductively with elements of grammar, vocabulary, syntactical formations, and translation theory receiving special supplementary attention. This course will enable the student to read, understand, and translate simplified Biblical prose and poetry.

This course will examine the daily, weekly, monthly and annual celebrations and ritual practices of Jewish life. Special attention will be given to the formation of Jewish Festivals from Bible to Rabbinic culture, including some elements of liturgical developments as well.

The goal is to familiarize the student with the content of the Gospel and Epistles of John, their theology, the sociology of the early church reflected in these writings, and the major approaches to their interpretation.
