The Rothberg International School is part of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and offers a wide variety of programs, including a full year of study in a wide range of studies, well beyond theological and biblical disciplines. UHL and Rothberg have been working together for several years supporting each other, and this particular One Year Program is a breakthrough in the relationship between them. Half the study time for undergraduates is spent with the Rothberg School and half with UHL. The ratio for postgraduates between the two universities is negotiated with each student and their own university.
Rothberg offers you the whole of their program, so that you can select from a vastly wider range of subjects than is possible for UK universities to offer, simply because of its location, and the availability of staff specialized in the languages, history, religions, archaeology, biblical studies and environment of Jewish history. Studies in Islamic thought and belief are also on offer, for the Hebrew University of Jerusalem has been an integrated and open institution for all people in Israel, long before the establishment of the State of Israel. There are programs of study dealing with the modern situation as well.
The problem we foresee for you, is reducing the range of studies you are attracted to, to two courses. Three courses may be taken for the first few weeks of the academic year to enable you to decide which two to make as your final choice.
Rothberg School is fulfilling its objective of providing a meaningful program of one year courses to overseas students in accordance with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem's charter.
